Loake Shoemakers have been producing handmade footwear for over 130 years. Loake is a family run business which has been making traditional English shoes for longer than anyone can remember. The first factory was opened back in 1880 and as such, the Loake 1880 Shoe Collection reflects the traditional process and intricate techniques that were used when the company was first established. Only the very highest quality materials are used and each pair of shoes takes eight weeks to make. Loake's premium grade Goodyear welted shoes continue to be made in England, in the same Northamptonshire factory that the three brothers built and Loake still believe there is no finer way to make a gentleman's shoe, with 130 skilled craftsmen, up to 75 shoe parts and over 200 different operations. Today, five generations and more than 130 years later, the Loake association with fine, handmade shoes lives on.
